Water Quality

At Blue Ridge Wildlife & Fisheries Management, LLC, we understand that no matter how pristine a pond may look, water quality is the core component of its health. This is why we commonly test conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, ORP, chlorophyll-a, TDS, ANC, temperature, and clarity to ensure ponds are at their optimal levels.

Typically, we offer regularly scheduled water testing to ensure that all levels are sustainable. In many cases, this regularly scheduled water testing can and does help to save ponds from potential problems (such as blue-green algae) by alerting us to potential declines before they become apparent. These same steps are taken in advance of stocking, the day fish are stocked, and after stocking to ensure all fish populations are being introduced to viable, high-quality ecosystems.
